Robin Camp Newsom, 54, of Chesnee, SC, passed on to Heaven on Monday, November 27, 2017, from her home. Born October 1, 1963, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of Boyce Julian Camp and Alice Genelle Phillips Camp of Cowpens, SC. A member of Mountain View Baptist Church-Cowpens for 53 years, Mrs. Newsom affirmed her Salvation on October 18, 1993. She was a Registered Nurse and retired from Mary Black Health System where she was a nursing administrator. Beginning her nursing career in 1982, Mrs. Newsom maintained a nursing license for 33 years and dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She is remembered by many for her vibrancy and passion and touched countless lives through her career as a pediatric, medical-surgical, and obstetric nurse, diabetic educator, and administrator. She was a member of the American Nurses Association and the American Association of Diabetes Educators. Mrs. Newsom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2000 and committed many years to raising awareness and research funding for the disease through her service as a leader of the Spartanburg Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She was honored with the 2014 MOVE Award from the Greater Carolinas Chapter in Raleigh, NC for her commitment to the Society and for her fundraising successes. She maintained her nursing license long after becoming disabled, ever hopeful for a cure, so that she could return to her life's passion as a nurse. While many knew her as Robin, the precious memories she leaves will be treasured most by those who called her daughter, wife, mother, and especially "Nan". She leaves a strong legacy and invocation for us to all live boldly and with an intentional and spirit-filled life. STRONG WOMEN. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them. In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Larry David Newsom; daughter, Ashley Nicole Newsom of Inman, SC; son, David Aaron Newsom of Chesnee, SC; granddaughter, Adelyn McKenna Stroud of Inman, SC; brother, Richard L.
