Pauline Guy

Pauline Hollifield Guy, 89, of Spartanburg, SC, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Magnolia Manor-Inman. Born February 10, 1928, in Beaumont, SC, she was the daughter of the late Tom Hollifield and Nannie "Sweetie" Owings Hollifield and stepdaughter of the late Annie Finch Hollifield. She was married to the late Ernest "Humpy" Guy from 1951 until 1963. Pauline was a member of Care Baptist Church and retired cotton mill worker and daycare provider. Surviving are her children, Robert "Bud" Guy and Hazel Green (Randy), all of Fairmont, SC; sister, Sylvia Mattas of Spartanburg, SC; stepchildren, Ruby Blanton of Spartanburg, SC and Jimmy Guy (Shirley) of Valley Falls, SC; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert Vance Hollifield; and sister, Hilda Hollifield. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Care Baptist Church, 849 Fairmont Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29301, by the Rev. David Slatton and the Rev. Joe Burnett. Burial will be in River Hills Baptist Church Cemetery, 5762 Reidville Rd., Moore, SC 29369.
