Paul Mcabee

Paul James McAbee, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 25, 2015, at his home. Born January 23, 1934, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Paul Leo and Mary Ruth Dial McAbee. Mr. McAbee was a member of Legacy Church, a song evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene for a number of years, and recorded multiple albums. He was a graduate of Fairforest High School where he was selected as a member of the National High School All-American football team of 1950. He was employed with Harley Bag Corporation for 25 years. Surviving is his beloved wife of 60 years, Evelyn Burke McAbee; daughters, Denise McAbee Upton (Rodney) of Spartanburg, SC and Tracie McAbee Baird (Kevin) of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Blake Simpson (Lindsay), Brittany Wilkins (Donald), Clayton Baird (Bethany), Tyler Baird, and Kalyn Baird; and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 PM Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Dr. Kevin Baird.
