Patricia Denham

Patricia Violette Denham, 83, widow of Andrew Gibson Denham, M.D., died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home after a brief illness. A native of Lowell, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of John Robert Violette and Catherine McAuliffe Violette. Pat was a graduate of Rosary High School in San Diego, California and received her nursing degree from St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. After taking a hiatus to raise her children, she resumed her nursing career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Spartanburg Regional Hospital until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, a member of the Secular Franciscans, a past president of the Cherry Laurel Garden Club, and a member of the L.O.L Club. In addition to her parents and husband, Pat is predeceased by one son, Robert Allen Denham; a sister, Helen Violette Walker; and a brother, Robert Violette. She is survived by her children, Catherine Denham Holmes (Allan), Mary Pat Denham Walker (Christopher), Andrew Gibson Denham, Jr., Shawn Denham Masto, and Jennie Denham Barnes (Will); grandchildren, Allan Riley Holmes, Jr., Anna Virginia Holmes, Katherine Anne Walker (Mike Etheridge), Molly Walker Cashman (Jeff), Nicholas Mark Masto, Benjamin Gibson Masto, Spencer Anthony Masto, and William Curtis Barnes; great-grandchildren, Emily Louise Cashman, George Walker Cashman, and Andrew Denham Masto; sister, Mary Violette; and many beloved friends. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2016, at Historic St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, by the Rev. David R. Whitman. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family will be at the home of Mary Pat and Chris Walker.
