Orestis Sapounas

Orestis Arthur Sapounas, 86, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Orestis arrived in America from Thessaloniki Greece in 1950. He was a decorated veteran who in 1952 was honored to serve America beside some of the greatest soldiers during the Korean War. After the war he moved to New York where he lived until April of 2015 when he moved to Spartanburg SC. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Carol Sapounas; his sons, Jeffery Sapounas, Scott Sapounas and his wife Kelli Sapounas; his grandchildren, Daniel, Jacob, Brianna, Max, Lilly and Landon Sapounas. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302, in memory of Orestis Sapounas.
