W. Marvin Nalley, 85, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to the Lord and his family on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Born September 5, 1931, in Marietta, GA, he was the son of the late Burrell Preston Nalley and Datha Rich Nalley and husband for 62 years of the late Joyce A. Nalley. A graduate of Clemson University and U. S. Air Force veteran, Marvin was a retired mechanical engineer for Lockwood-Greene PA. He was past-master of St. John's Masonic Lodge #333 Free Masons in Spartanburg and dedicated in life to the Shriner's Hospital for Children. He was also past-president of the Spartanburg Shrine Club and served as Potentate of Hejaz Temple in Greenville in 1987. Survivors include his eldest son, Robert Marvin Nalley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two sons, Randy Nalley and Ronnie Nalley. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. A service honoring the memory of Joyce A. and W. Marvin Nalley will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306, by the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor. Per their wishes, Marvin and Joyce will be interred together at a date and site to be announced. His son is at the home and gives heartfelt thanks to his brothers of the Shrine.
