Lois Evelyn McGaha, 85, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at RoseCrest Health Care Center. Born August 28, 1932, in Clifton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt McGaha and Dorothy Harvey McGaha. Lois retired from The State House in Columbia as the administrative assistant to SC Senators. She was the honored recipient of The Order of the Silver Crescent in 2003 in recognition for her many contributions to the Palmetto State. She loved to play Bingo, was of the Baptist faith, volunteered for many missions abroad for various churches, and was very active with the American Red Cross. Survivors include her sister, Mildred McGaha Comer of Tampa, FL; sister-in-law, Marion Walker McGaha of Charlotte, NC; two nieces; one nephew; and special friend and her family, Peggy Renfro of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Vernon McGaha; sister, Emily Joyce McGaha; and nephew, Michael Kendall. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 AM Friday, November 3, 2017, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Andy Case. Visitation will follow at the graveside. Memorials may be made to First Baptist North Spartanburg, 8740 Asheville Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29316.
