Lois Daum

Lois Audrey Daum, 91, died in peace at her home at Summit Hills in Spartanburg on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Born December 16, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. Bischoff and Elise Anna Herschler Bischoff. Lois lived most of her adult life in Philadelphia and Stamford, Connecticut. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Daum, Jr. Anyone who knew Lois, knew of her abundant pride in her three children, Robert Charles Daum (Julie), The Rev. Deborah Daum Apoldo, and John Bradford Daum. She was a devoted wife and mother who was steadfast in her care for her family and their home life. Lois is survived by seven granddaughters, Kelley Apoldo Lyle (Jason), Amanda Apoldo, Emily Apoldo, Alexandra Klienerdaum (Alex), Schuyler Daum, Bailey Daum, Patricia Daum; and two great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Summit Hills and to her hospice nurse, Shannon, and hospice chaplain, Sandra. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, February 19, 2018, at The Episcopal Church of the Advent, followed by a reception at the church Parish and Community Life Center. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 20, 2018, in the Senate Room at Summit Hills, 110 Summit Hills Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family suggests memorial gifts in Lois' honor be made to The Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303; and The Advent Foundation of the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 141 Advent Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302, which furthers the mission of sharing the light of Christ in the community and beyond.
