George Rush

George Kevin Rush, 60, of Spartanburg, SC, beloved husband of Linda Henson Rush, died Monday, August 1, 2016, at his home. Born June 23, 1956, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late George Edwin Rush and Florence Julia Peggy Cochran Rush. A commissioner and former firefighter with the North Spartanburg Fire Department, Mr. Rush was employed with Synthomer USA as a Field Safety Coordinator and also worked with American Security Company. He was a member of Lone Oak Masonic Lodge #372 and a talented artist. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brad Rush of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Anna Cochrane of Joplin, MO; grandsons, Camden Cochrane of Easley, SC, Braeden Cochrane of Yuma, AZ, and Ewan Cochrane of Joplin, MO; brothers, David Rush of Spartanburg, SC and Casey Rush of Trenton, ME; and special children in his life, Alexis Harris, Rylee Douglas, Ryanne Douglas, and Rhen Smith. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, August 4, 2016 at First Baptist North Spartanburg, 8740 Asheville Hwy, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, August 5, 2016, at First Baptist North Spartanburg, by the Rev. Clayton Houchins, the Rev. Jeff Cochran, and the Rev. Dr. Michael S. Hamlet. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
