Etta Bennefield Manley, 83, of Gaffney, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at her home. Born in Wahalla, SC, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Alexander and Gladys Jamison Bennefield and widow of Billy Harrison Manley. Mrs. Manley loved music (country and gospel) and enjoyed her flower garden. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Gaffney, the Sunshine Sunday School Class, and also enjoyed traveling with the church seniors. She retired from Ramada Inn Restaurant after 29 years of service. Surviving are her children, Debra Allison of Gaffney, SC, Cathy Drake (Tony) of Cherokee Springs, SC, Mike Manley (Tracy) of Nashville, GA, and Roger Manley (Ann) of Spartanburg, SC; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Jim Bennefield, Jack Bennefield, Ernest Bennefield, George Bennefield, Melvin Bennefield, and Deane Beaman. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by granddaughters, Rebecca Arnold and Candy Drake; and sisters, Shirley Grace Hovark and Mamie Viola Turner. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, November 17, 2017, in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by the Rev. Scott Peterson. Visitation will be at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SouthernCare Hospice, 818 A East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. Special thank you is expressed to hospice nurse, Shannon Casey, for her care and concern. The family is at their respective homes.
