Ernest Shook

Ernest E. Shook, 99, of Arcadia, SC died Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his home. Born September 20, 1917 in Mars Hill, NC, he was the son of the late James Daniel and Carrie Ramsey Shook. He was the widower of Grace Louise Cantrell Shook. As a U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Shook was retired from Mayfair Mills as a machine operator. He was a member of Westgate Freewill Baptist Church and a lifetime member of Arcadia Masonic Lodge #285. Survivors include daughters, Robbie Burke of Lyman, SC; Kathy Taylor (Michael) of Inman, SC; son, Tommy Shook (Maxine) of Boiling Springs, SC; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter on the way in September. He is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10:30 - 11:45 AM Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Westgate Free Will Baptist Church, 820 West Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301. Funeral service will be 12:00 noon, in the church, conducted by the Rev. Kevin Smith. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
