Erik Anderson

Erik Fred Anderson, 66, of Moore, SC, died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. Born February 10, 1951 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Doris Cook Anderson of Spartanburg, SC, and the late John Wilson Anderson. Mr. Anderson graduated from Clemson University as a Civil Engineer in 1973 and was a member of Joy Lutheran Church. He had a passion for history, cars, art, music, and could fix anything even if it seemed beyond repair. He leaves behind family and friends that will miss him dearly. They include his loving wife of 42 years, Diane McCartha Anderson; beautiful children Virginia Van Alstine (Rob) and Laura Lowe (Daniel); three grandchildren Ava Van Alstine, Callum Van Alstine and Carter "Cootie" Lowe; siblings, Carole Sorrenti (Bob McDonald), Craig Anderson (Kathleen) and his 1966 Pontiac GTO. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 2:00-2:45 PM, with a Memorial Service following at 3:00 PM at Joy Lutheran Church, conducted by Pastor Lane Bembenek. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Spartanburg Methodist College Annual Fund, 1000 Powell Mill Rd., Spartanburg, SC, or Joy Lutheran Church, 3980 Moore Duncan Hwy., Moore, SC 29369.
