Douglas Becknell

Douglas C. Becknell, 88, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, April 15, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 20, 1927, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late John William Becknell and Emily Carruth Becknell. A U. S. Navy veteran, Mr. Becknell enjoyed gardening and loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, retired from Earnhardt Electric, and volunteered for Mobile Meals for 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary Gallman Becknell of the home; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Liberty United Methodist Church, 2095 Chesnee Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29303, by the Rev. Andrew Wolfe.
