Carolyn Mcclellan

Martha Carolyn Wingo McClellan, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at her home. Born October 22, 1936, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert Anderson Wingo and Zula Hall Wingo and widow of Benny Dean McClellan. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, Carolyn was formerly a nurse's aide at Spartanburg General Hospital. She was a member of Peace Free Will Baptist Church and former longtime member of Arch Street Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, James Anderson McClellan of Pelzer, SC, Martha Friend of Boiling Springs, SC, Mary Ann Bridges of Spartanburg, SC, and Timothy Andrew McClellan of the home; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Emily Sousa of California and Lucy Jackson of Florida; and brother, Walter J. Wingo of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sons, Mark Anthony McClellan and Steven Allen McClellan. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Peace Free Will Baptist Church, 1195 Old Converse Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with funeral services following at 3:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Chuck Thornton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
