Bertha Eaton

February 28, 1930 — June 8, 2018

Bertha Dell Dickenson Eaton, age 88, of Pembroke, KY, and recently of Spartanburg, SC, passed away June 8, 2018. Born February 28, 1930, she is preceded in death by her parents, Reuben Dabney Dickenson II and Julia Della Hopson Dickenson, and by her husband, Fulton Ray Eaton. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, first at Little River Church of Christ in Christian County, KY, and then at Pembroke Church of Christ since it was formed in 1961. She was an enthusiastic member of West Fork Homemakers' Club of Pembroke and an avid quilter, especially with her sister, Anna. Survived by her children, Donna Kaye (Dave) Curtis of St. Simons Island, GA, Dr. Coy Lynn (Patti) Eaton of Spartanburg, SC, Boyce Ray Eaton of Hopkinsville, KY, and Connie (Phil) Dillingham of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Eric (Lindley) Eaton, Mary Elizabeth Eaton, Katherine Dell Eaton, Noah Smith Dillingham, Nathan Eaton Dillingham, Hope Alexandra Dillingham, Samantha Ray Eaton and Anna Marie Eaton; and her much-loved nieces and nephews. She is also preceded by her three siblings and their spouses, Arlene (Tillman) Taylor, Anna (James) Lowe, and Reuben Dabney (Maizie) Dickenson III. Visitation will be 1:00 - 3:00 PM Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, 700 Country Club Lane, Hopkinsville, KY 42240. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make a contribution to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank Sharon Kaye Hardy, Betty Sims, Jessie Kelly, and the staff at Spartanburg Medical Center for their compassionate care.
